As a member of the Michigan Recycle Coalition, MEG has nutured and developed relationships with recyclers in both the US and Canada. We provide materials and documentation to educate recyclers about the recycle opportunities within the commercial office furniture industry. We work with the furniture manufacturers to develop fact sheets on various furniture products, system lines and components that show the recyclable material content of these products.

In an industry that has normally backed away from furniture recycling due to misconceptions, we have been very successful in working with recyclers. Not every furniture line is recyclable for ferrous or non-ferrous content and in these cases, we strive to find suitable second life for these products through Habitat Restores, and energy co-generation initiatives.

As the major furniture manufacturers continue to lead the cradle to cradle initiative in product design, MEG is proud to support the effort, and that of our clients, to be environmentally responsible partners in this business.
